The footbridge and the Romanesque bridge at Zwettl Abbey.On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Dr Andreas Gamerith, Zwettl Abbey Archives, and Elisabeth Moll, MBA, Zwettl City Archives, will shed light on Zwettl's historic bridges – from the Romanesque bridge to the bridges of the early 20th century, which incorporated modern innovations. The current construction measures on Zwettl bridges – funded by Interreg Austria-Czech Republic in the ‘Cisterscapes – VB-Zw-ZnS’ project – will also be presented.
This lecture will take place on Thursday, September 18th 2025, starting at 7 p.m., in the Zwettl Abbey Library. The meeting point is at the gate in the abbey courtyard. The course fee is €9, or €5 for pupils, students and those doing community service.
